West Indies stranded on 20 for 1 in its chase of 244 to level two-Test series

Persistent rain prevented any play on the fourth day of the second Test in Colombo on Sunday (October 25), with West Indies needing another 224 runs with nine wickets in hand for its first Test win in Sri Lanka.
West Indies had reached 20 for 1 with Shai Hope on 17 when rain stopped play on Saturday evening, and the covers remained on the field throughout Sunday at the P Sara Oval.
The umpires finally cancelled play for the day at 2.45 pm local time following another inspection of the rain-soaked pitch and outfield.
Batting first, Sri Lanka was dismissed for 200, but responded by shooting West Indies out for just 163 before scoring 206 in its second innings to set the visitor a target of 244 to level the two-Test series. Sri Lanka had won the first Test in Galle by an innings and six runs.
West Indies has not won any of its ten previous Tests in Sri Lanka since the first game between the sides on Sri Lankan soil in 1993.
